about

The Lee Daniels Quartet returns with a follow up to their first collection released earlier this year. The album features seven more originals that range in style from Gypsy Jazz to Bop to modern fusion. This second outing captures a refined sonic portrait of the band, with a warmer piano sound and more defined bass timbre.

The title track references the idea of THE BLUE HOUR, which is the twilight time between day and night. It represents the period between departure and arrival, work and play, dreams and wakefulness. It is the time between thought and action, a time when contrasts dissolve and everything becomes ambiguous. It is the time when you can easily get lost, or just as easily discover something new and important. It is the state when anything is possible.

The Quartet is made up of

Lee Daniels / Guitar
Gary Staples / Piano
Al Kratzer / Bass
Tom Bagshaw / Drums

Look for the next installment this Fall.
